How it all began...
In 1997, Jim and Jen Weber wanted to start a project that would motivate their Sunday school class at St. Joseph's Parish. They wanted the children to think beyond their own personal lives and to do something tangible to help other people. Their solution was a simple cookie sale that would give all of its proceeds to Hunger Relief Programs.
These programs are run through Cross Catholic Outreach (crosscatholic.org), Cross International (crossinternational.org) and Blessings of Hope (blessingsofhope.com) and help feed starving people in some of the poorest countries as well as the U.S.
Today that simple cookie sale has become something bigger than they ever anticipated. Members of St. Joseph and other area churches, as well as businesses and community members, have come together over the years to build The Cookie Sale into one of the largest contributors to Hunger Relief Programs. Last year this sale raised enough to feed more than 2.4 million people in Haiti and in the U.S. The goal this year is to feed over 4.2 million!
In order to make this year's goal a reality, we need your help! We need businesses, churches, youth groups and organizations to help this year's effort by selling, buying or packaging cookies. Together we can make a difference.
2020 Cookie Sale Helped Feed 2.4 Million
Last year's Cookie Sale's request for donations raised enough money to help Cross Catholic Outreach (crosscatholic.org), Cross International (crossinternational.org) and Blessings of Hope (blessingsofhope.com) feed more than 2.4 million people. This was achieved with the help of our partners finding new ways to stretch The Cookie Sale proceeds. Our goal for this year is to feed over 4.2 million people! 100% of the proceeds from the Annual Cookie Sale goes to our partners' Hunger Relief Programs in Haiti and the U.S.!
How You Can Help
Many in Haiti are among the poorest in the world and for them finding enough food for just one meal a day can be a constant struggle. We are looking for churches, youth groups, businesses or organizations to help.
